Questions

Do you sell insurance or take commissions?

No. We don't sell policies, take commissions or accept payment from insurance companies, brokers or administrators for rankings. Associations pay us for reviews, agents pay a flat fee for an introduction, administrators pay for software. That is the whole list.

My broker offers a free rate comparison report. Why pay?

A broker's free review is paid for by the commission on the business they hope to move. Ours is paid by you, so the only interest in the room is your members'. We compare your program with every peer in the index, show the math, and tell you what to demand from the carrier you already have.

How do you keep rates current?

Every program in the index carries the date we last verified it, shown on every score. We re-check all programs monthly; association rates usually change once a year at renewal.

Is it really free for members?

Yes. Anyone can use the rating tool and assistant on this site for free, and asking an agent for a quote is free too; the agent pays the introduction fee.

Where does the data come from?

From the MemberVerdict index: rate tables and plan terms for every program, organized the same way. Every number shows the month of its rates.

Can a company pay to improve its ranking or scorecard?

No. Scores and scorecards use public records and fixed rules. Companies can send corrections, which we show alongside the record, but no one can buy a better grade.

Where do the assistant's answers come from?

From the same rates, scores and ratings shown on this site. It runs in the browser, never makes up a rate, and your questions aren't sent anywhere.

Can I cancel monitoring?

Yes. It is billed yearly and simply does not renew.
